Project Overview
The Holmaneset Project is a proposed development located on the coast of the Nordgulen fjord, approximately 8 kilometres west of Svelgen in Bremanger Municipality in western Norway.
The project concept includes an integrated production plant for the potential production of green hydrogen and green ammonia, aligned with broader efforts to support low-carbon energy solutions and industrial decarbonisation. The Green ammonia production capacity is +225,000 tons per annum, with an estimated +1,7 MtCO2e emission reduction over a 5-year production period.
The Project is currently progressing through regulatory approvals.
The Innovation Fund
The European Union (EU) has endorsed and significantly invested in Fortescue’s plans, awarding the Holmaneset Project a grant of €203,766,000 as part of its Innovation Fund. GAP Holmaneset, EU Innovation Fund Project Number: 101132475
