Our cutting-edge green technologies and energy sources are the key to building a new renewable energy value chain and achieving zero emissions

What is Green Hydrogen?

Green hydrogen is produced through the electrolysis of water using renewable energy like solar, wind, hydropower or geothermal energy.

The Holmaneset Project specifically uses hydropower to generate green hydrogen, resulting in zero carbon dioxide emissions.

What is Green Ammonia?

Ammonia is a compound of nitrogen and hydrogen.

By combining nitrogen with hydrogen using renewable resources, like wind, solar, hydropower and geothermal energy, we get green ammonia with zero emissions.

The Production Process

Green hydrogen and green ammonia is created through two key processes. Powered by hydropower, this process emits zero carbon:
1. Electrolysis splits water into hydrogen and oxygen with renewable electricity.
2. Ammonia synthesis combines the hydrogen with atmospheric nitrogen to create ammonia.
The green ammonia is stored in a refrigerated state and shipped to Norwegian and European markets. This approach supports global efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Green Pioneer

The Marine Projects team have successfully modified a diesel ship engine to run on ammonia.

Our Green Pioneer is proving that the shipping trade's global emissions can be reduced to zero.
